Length of surgery:
This outpatient surgery takes around two to three hours. It often requires one to two nights stay in the hospital.
Recovery and post-op care:
Each buttock augmentation is very different, depending on the types of implants used. If implants were used, you will need to wear a support garment for two to three weeks after your procedure. After about three months the swelling will have gone down, the implants will have settled and the final results will be noticeable.
If liposculpture and fat grafting were used, it is important you do not sit for about two weeks after surgery as it will damage the fat. You will need a pillow or cushion to sit on to help raise the buttocks. You will also need to sleep on your stomach or your side.
In either case, swelling, bruising and discomfort are common after your procedure, but can be eased with medication. Whichever method is used for your buttock augmentation, it is common for your surgeon to give you a support garment to wear at all time following your surgery. You can discuss this further with your surgeon before and after your procedure.
Length of stay:
It is recommended you stay on holiday for 10 - 14 nights, during which time you will have follow-up appointments with your surgeon. To get the most out of your recovery time we suggest you partake in gentle exercise, yoga classes and treat yourself to some pampering. If you are feeling up to it, there is plenty to see and do in Phuket, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur.
