Curriculum Vitae of Dato’ Dr. How Kim Chuan
Dato’ Dr How graduated from Singapore in 1991. He went on to specialize in Orthodontics in London in 1993. He is also well qualified and possesses a number of postgraduate qualifications in Oral Surgery, Implantology, Laser and Aesthetic Dentistry.
Dato’ Dr How is the Managing Director for Imperial dental specialist centre formerly known as Beverly Wilshire dental specialist centre.
Dato’ Dr How is a also a Fellow in a number of Internationally accalimed Colleges including Royal College of Surgeons of England, Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, International College of Denstistry ICD), World Clinical Laser Institute, World Federation of Laser Dentistry, College of Dental Specialist of Malaysia, Academy of Medicine as well as a Diplomate for the International Congress of Oral Implantologist (ICOI). He is also a Consultant and Founding member for the International Association of Orthodontists and Implantologists (iAOI).
Dato’ Dr How is the Key Opinion Leader for Straumann Implant in Malaysia as well as the Course Director for Osstem implant system. He is also the Course Director for IBS Imlant System. Dr How has conducted a number of implant courses in Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam.
Dato’ Dr How is also well known in Orthodontics, he has conducted a number of Clinical Orthodontic Courses in Malaysia, Cambodia, Myanmmar, Nigeria and Vietnam. He has also obtained the prestigious Elite status as well as pioneer in Invisalign orthodontic treatment. He has been appointed as International Advisor for the West African Journal of Orthodontics as well as Editor in Dental Asia Journal.
Dato’ Dr How is also very active in promoting the arts and science of Dentistry through association works. He is currently the Councillor for the FDI World Dental Federation. He is also the Chief Editor for the Asia Pacific Dental Federation. He has also served as the President of the Malaysian Dental Association and the Founding member for the Malaysian Oral Implant Association and the Malaysian ITI Association.
Dato’ Dr How is also the International Councillor for Asia Section for the International College of Dentists (ICD). This is a worldwide international organization which formerly recognized dentists throughout the world that has significant contribution to the profession.
Dato’ Dr How is also a pioneer in Laser Dentistry in Malaysia. He is a Fellow of the World Clinical Laser Institute as well as a Certified Laser Trainer for Biolase. He is also the Malaysian Country Representative for World Federation of Laser Dentistry. He has conducted a number of Laser Training Courses.
Dato’ Dr How is also the FDI Speaker as well as Key Opinion Leader for Oral B, Sensodyne and Listerine.
Dato’ Dr How also actively conducting clinical orthodontic training courses in the region. He also conduct implant, orthodontics and laser training courses in many countries.
In the national service area, Dato’ Dr How Kim Chuan was appointed by the Minister of Health of Malaysia to serve the nation as the Board Director for the Malaysian Health Promotion Board as well as Council Member for the Malaysian Dental Council. He is also serving as the Chairman for the Disciplinary procedures of the dental profession.
Dato’ Dr How received the covetous DIMP Award from the Sultan of Pahang in October 2010 which carries the title Dato’. He has also received the outstanding social contribution award (PMC) from the Sultan of Negri Sembilan in 2002. He also received the Outstanding Overseas Chinese Award conferred by Chinese Stomatological Association in Dec 2010.
Dr. Arlena Lee CV
Dr. Arlena Lee graduated in 2012 with first class distinction and was awarded the Dean’s List award 2012. She was also conferred the best student in Family Dentistry upon graduating. During her undergraduate years, she was also awarded distinctions in Prosthodontics, Restorative dentistry, Periodontology as well as dental anatomy.
As an undergraduate student, she was actively involved in Malaysian Dental Association as well as actively research programme organized both internationally or locally. In 2011, she was conferred the best presenter for Asia Dentsply Student Clinician competition, At the same time, she was also awarded the best oral presentation, best research presentation and best overall for 1stMahsa Student Research Conference in 2011.
Prior to joining Imperial Dental Specialist Centre, Dr. Arlena served her compulsory service in Oral Surgery Department, Hospital Kuala Lumpur. Her area of interest is surgical removal of wisdom tooth, Implantology as well as Restorative dentistry.
Currently, other than performing routine dentistry work, Dr. Arlena is also the Director of education and training at Imperial Dental Specialist Centre. She is currently one of the youngest fellow in Malaysia to be awarded the FICD fellowship award. (Fellow of International College of Dentist). Dr. Arlena also currently serves as the Honorary Secretary of Region XX Asia ICD.
