Back Lipectomy Surgery

Back Lipectomy

A back lipectomy is an operation to remove excess skin, fat and tissue around your back area. This can be the lower, upper or flank area and is usually on both sides of the back.
The amount of the tissue to be removed will depend on the amount of extra skin and fat you have.

Preparation for Back Lipectomy

Before you undergo a back lipectomy, it is important for you to discuss any medical conditions that you have and let us know about any medications that you are taking including any herbal or other non-prescription ones.
When you arrive at your destination you will have a consultation with the surgeon, where he will have a physical evaluation of the areas to be treated. At this appointment you and your surgeon will discuss your goals, and any other queries you have before finalizing the plan for surgery.

The Procedure

The extra skin is marked out and then removed during surgery with liposuction. Drains may be placed, as well as compression garments worn for support after the surgery. You will have restricted activity within the first couple of days, progressing to full activity as early as two weeks.

The area of skin and tissue removed can be as wide as ten inches. Following removal of the extra skin, upper skin and tissue is pulled up and lower skin and tissue is pulled down which gives a tighter and younger looking body. The scar will fade dramatically in time.

Best Candidate for a Back Lipectomy

Suitable candidates for a back lipectomy are average weight people with firm, elastic skin who have pockets of fat in the area of the back, the area that looks like bra overhang.
Patients who have had a considerable weight loss (more than 40 kilograms) and have hanging skin and fat in the back, chest area, and buttocks. Some patients need other surgical procedures on the arms, inner thighs, and breasts.
A lipectomy is not a treatment for cellulite or an alternative for weight loss

Other recommended procedures with back lift

Many people who travel to Malaysia have more than one procedure because of the cost advantages and also for a more balanced look. Back lipectomy is often done with other treatments, such as tummy tuck, thigh lift, and face-lift to give a more balanced profile. Beautiful You Holidays offer great packages for combined procedures.
